Oral rehabilitation for a patient with severe loss of alveolar bone , soft tissue & replacing fix prosthesis supported with DENTAL IMPLANTS.
Here we present a clinical case of a patient undergone full mouth reconstruction with implant supported fix prosthesis.
In this case report 74 years old female came to our clinic. Her chief complaint was that “she could not eat anything”.
She had gotten removable dentures fitted in her mouth twice but she was not able to eat properly due to which her health was deteriorating. Her family members were searching for other options for her. They were readily agreed for IMPLANT SUPPORTED FULL MOUTH DENTURE PROSTHESIS.
In the beginning we had given denture as a template and after 3 weeks, we placed 11 implants,5 in maxillary arch and 6 in mandibular arch.
The second stage, started. Usually happens after 4 and half months but due to COVID, patient came after 11 months so we had placed healing cap and started process fix teeth.
After 1 weeks impression were taken & finally prosthesis were delivered. The prosthesis was tightened with screws and holes were filled with composite resin.
Oral hygiene instructions were given to the patient. Follow up: one week, one month, three months and six months.
She did all the follow up and now she report to clinic after every six months
We had a great time collaborating and making this smile happen.
Many people asked ,should an age of 74 years old have dental implants.
